This guide assumes you are running *NIX or MS Windows version of Mozilla. Mozex works only with Mozilla version 1.3 or higher and Firebird version 0.6 or higher. The same installation process and package may be used with both Mozilla and Firebird.

MS Windows installation instructions
  1. Click here to install mozex.
  2. When the installation ends, restart Mozilla.
  3. Check if a new "mozex" entry is present in page context menu (right click somewhere on the page).
  4. Set up your external programs. Please follow the instructions on this page.

*NIX installation instructions

  3. Check if a new "mozex" entry is present in page context menu (right click somewhere on the page).
  4. Locate mozex panel in Preferences and set up a secure temporary directory. The directory should be owned by your user-id and have permissions set to 0700. It's used to store temporary files for text editing operations (view page source, edit textarea). By default mozex uses "/tmp".
